This week it's a no brainer, sorry to be obvious and oh so British but....

This week I'm thankful for the SUN!!!

I found this photo on a science blog that has lots of cool facts about the sun.

It was interesting, but for now I just want to warm myself in its lovely rays.

What are you thankful for this week?

Skirts and Dresses week 3 (30 before 30)

This weeks outfit posts... I'm still finding it difficult spacing the photos!

Sorry it is two days late, been very busy this week, working lots and doing lots in the evenings too!

Oh well I am now officailly on HOLIDAY!!!

I do like my job but it is great to have 2 and a half weeks work free stretching out infront of me.

SO they aren't in the order I wore them but they are sort of lined up!

Only one week left of skirts and dresses!

To be honest I can't wait. I don't mind wearing them but it does seriously limit my wardrobe. And now that it is SUNNY I would like to be able to frolick (yes I do frolick) without worrying about whether or not my dress is riding up!

Anyway I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine.

 Don't forget to wear suncream!

Time for a new blog idea...

I got this idea from twitter (you can follow me @Emily_Advntures) every Thursday people use the Hastag #ThankfulThursday (If you don't understand twitter jargon, and want to, read this.) people talk about people who have been nice to them and things in their lives they are particularly Thankful for that week.

I love it. It's great to see people being so positive and encouraging. Being thankful is definitely something that many of us could do with practising. I am terrible if I'm feeling a little down everything is dramatically bad! Whereas in actual fact My life is pretty cushty (no I am not Delboy I just like the word cushty) and only small things are hard or difficult.

Because I am a Christian I see being thankful as a way of giving God the Glory for the good things in life and actually making a point of remembering that all good things come from HIM.

So every Thursday I am going to try and remember to post something I am really thankful for. Sometimes it will be a person, sometimes something big and serious and sometimes something a little ridiculous.

This week I am thankful for my bike and people who cycle with me.

This photo was taken monday, half way through a 12 mile ride to a wonderful warm and friendly farm for lunch.
We were very wet but happy!

I'm going cycling again today, lets hope it is a little less wet!

Skirts and Dresses (30 before 30)

Week 2 of dresses and skirts has presented new challenges, I forgot to take photos for two days this week so I had I recreate those days outfits the next day!
I have enjoyed my friends and work colleagues checking I am wearing a skirt or a dress every day they see me.

For some reason I can't get the photos to line up!
oh well.
 You get the idea.

I am going to have to start repeating outfits now. I considered borrowing skirts and dresses from my Friends, but i have realised that I want to be realistic. I have already changed the way I'm getting dressed (often i would wear the same outfit more than once).

Look what arrived in the post! (30 before 30)

A Large brown box...

With my wedding dress inside!
Cleaned and folded into a fancy box with lots of tissue paper.

I didn't take it out because i knew i wouldn't be able to put it back properly, but i used the opportunity to practice some up close shots of the lace and things on the bodice.

Week one of skirts and dresses

So the first week of skirts and dresses has finished, this is what i wore...

This challenge started well and I felt really positive about it, but a week on its becoming more difficult because:-
1. I'm worried i don't have enough clothes to keep this varied
2. I am not enjoying having my picture taken, partially because it has been such bad weather we have had to take every photo inside
3. Some days I feel self conscious.

The start of a month of skirts! (30 before 30)

Yesterday was the start of my next 30 before 30 challenge,
to wear a skirt or a dress every day for a month.

I have reassured Jamie that if I have to climb trees for a day then I will wear trousers, and be realistic about what can be achieved in a skirt, but I really don't see much of a practical problem occuring other than overcoming my pale legs and the comfort of wearing trousers.
But a challenge isn't meant to be easy!

My photographer is not too willing to take many shots.
So I have to get my posing right first time a try to remember to put my shoes on!

Here goes, lets hope I can do it.
